The Times, They Are A’Changin’
Thanks. Kevin. Slanted mightily to the left, indeed. While I realize that you support the use of force in Iraq, I just thought I’d throw out this statistic for you: 44% of Americans think the President has not made a sufficient case for war. Six in 10 want to wait until we have the support of our allies. So before you proceed to exacerbate an already sensitive situation, please take other people’s viewpoints, and their right to express them how they choose, into consideration. No, I’m not an advocate of trespassing, and yes, the actions of these men was in violation of the Mall’s policy. However, these men were simply exercising their right to free speech. Their only mistake was speaking their mind on private property.

And one more comment, just for fun:
I support people who have a genuine and moral obligation to war. I think most Americans would prefer not to be involved in a war. What I cannot tolerate are the idiots that line up against the policies of the President because of who he is, rather than opposing the policy itself. Signs saying things like “Think of the Iraqi childern” are exactly my point. Do the Iraqi children not deserve to grow up free from tyranny?
Instead of legitimate, reasonable opposition, we get people who go to rallies with signs that say “Bush is Hitler” and other thoughtful messages.
Take these folks, for example.
